Reuse of water from milk powder evaporation
At the process stage ”last evaporation” where milk concentrate is led out from the evaporator, all the remaining middle phase (condensate) consisting of steam & water, is pumped to the condensator, where it condensates to water and is then pumped to a storage tank.
BacTerminator® can treat the condensate enabling reuse across the dairy, e.g. manual low-pressure and CIP-cleaning, process water, product flush, pre-rinse, make-up water for cooling towers etc.
Threshold values for COD-content of the condensate:
- COD <100 mg/L No problems
- COD <400 mg/L No problems, lab test to be performed
- COD >400 mg/L Potential problems, lab test to be performed
- COD >4.000 mg/L Most likely problems, lab test to be performed
